The members of the Croatian team at AThEME are working in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Rijeka. In their subproject they are investigating the patterns of use of Italian as a minority language and the attitudes towards it in Rijeka and Istria, the advantages of multilingualism on the cognitive system, and the impact of the native language on ultimate attainment in second language acquisition. The work of Ana Bratulić on the project is co-funded by the Croatian Science Foundation through the Young Researchers' Career Development Project.
The project stakeholders in Croatia are the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, the Education and Teacher Training Agency, the National Centre for External Evaluation of Education, the City of Rijeka – City Department of Education and Schooling, the Croatian Chamber of Economy – Pula County Chamber, and the Italian Community in Rijeka.
